Hornbill release coming up at Unesco Ciletuh Geopark

17 November 2022 – Currently we are finalizing the last preparations as part of the Hornbill Release Program at Ciletuh for four wreathed hornbills. This is another crucial step for the Hornbills that resided in Cikananga, to provide them a future back in the wild and to support a healthy population. As part of the carefully planned transition, these hornbills are moved to habituation enclosures at Ciletuh before they will be released and are already enjoying the local wild fruits.

Unesco recognized the Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu area as a national Geopark and stretches over 128.000 hectares on southwest Java. More updates coming up on the progression of the release soon.
